The ideal candidate will need to have a broad knowledge of Linux / UNIX systems experience, with the ability to quickly learn new and unfamiliar technologies. This role will assist in the enterprise patching project. Being a part of this growing team, this position will need to be able to have a strong knowledge of Linux patching and be able to script in multiple shells such as bash, ksh and zsh.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in managing the patch management program through established polices and process to ensure a consistent configured environment that is secure against known vulnerabilities in operating system and application software.
Oversee the vulnerability remediation process in the organization through reporting and tracking reports.
Create vulnerability and remediation reports to local administrators and managers.
Oversee / Track the automated deployment of patches to IT devices using enterprise patch management tools.
Oversee / Track vendor issued firmware / software upgrades on patching infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate should have 4+ years of IT experience in the engineering space and a Bachelor's degree.
Five plus years of experience performing server-systems design, implementation and administration, preferably with Red Hat Linux.
Strong understanding of patch management.
Advanced scripting experience with UNIX, shell scripting, and software release automation.
Knowledge of operating systems, including Red Hat, Linux, Solaris, HPUX and AIX.
Experience taking projects from initial concept to implementation.
Detail oriented self-starter capable of working independently.
Strong communication skills.

Desired skills (not mandatory):

Experience with BMC BladeLogic.
Perl, sed, awk.
Working knowledge of API such as SOAP and REST.
