Our client is seeking an Application Subject Matter Expert for a 6 month position.
Looking for a motivated, high energy Application Subject Matter Expert.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with business lead, provides necessary suggestions and help finalize the requirements.
- Responsible for providing estimates (ROM) including co-ordination with multiple teams as needed.
- Responsible for delivery of conceptual system design (CSD) and/or preliminary system design (PSD).
- Validates project deliverables such as CSD / PSD, TDR meets the business requirements as outlined in the BRI.
- Able to validate the work completed by the SMEs / Junior SMEs and developers.
- Able to review and recommend improvements to the current application.
- Maintains high level understanding of application and integration of systems components.
- Reviews and signs off any deliverables including ROM, CSD / PSD, TDR etc.
- Accountable for the implementation of the business requirements.
- Follow through the project until implementation and responsible for addressing any warranty issues.
- Lead a team of SMEs / Junior SMEs and train them in the application knowledge.
- Must have thorough understanding of SDLC.
Requirements:
- In depth knowledge and expertise in mainframe programming technologies such as Assembler, COBOL, Easytrieve, JCL, TSO / ISPF, CA7, Endevor, FTP, and standard IBM Mainframe development tools.
- Experience with cross platform data movement and integration.
- Expertise in the Systems Development Life Cycle.
- Ability to perform on-call duties, supporting all mainframe applications off hours.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- A proven ability to lead development teams.
- A proven ability to analyze and guide business partners to optimum technical solutions to business problems.
- An ability to fully understand the big picture and how their efforts impact the overall business strategy.
- A sense of urgency in dealing with production problems and high priority business initiatives.
- A proven ability to share knowledge and help others develop skills and grow.
- A proven ability to work with external vendors to direct their efforts in meeting the needs of the business.
