Safety Coordinator needed for a food manufacturing company located in Vernon Ca.
Schedule: Tuesday to Friday - 12pm to 8:30pm Saturday - 8am to 4:30pm
Handle training schedule, communications, and materials. Gather and track data for worker compensation, safety reports, and metrics. Translate materials and documents (English/Spanish). Assist with monthly inspections and reports. Maintain ongoing departmental communication and follow-up on initiatives. Provide clerical support, such as filing, word processing, utilizing Excel spreadsheets, updating charts, scanning, answering phones, data entry, scheduling meetings, etc. Report any food safety or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Follows Food’s Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills: Requires working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint. Accurate data entry skills. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. Requires bilingual skills (English/Spanish) and verbal & written translation skills. Requires minimum 2 years’ related experience. Requires someone who is detail-oriented and can prioritize workload to handle tasks/duties with a sense of urgency. Prefer worker compensation and safety experience/knowledge.
