JobsRUs.com is hiring for Maintenance Technicians for a large automotive parts manufacturing facility in Saline, MI.
**A State Journeyman license is required for this position.**
Responsibilities: • Install, repair and maintain all equipment and facilities • Analyze mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality • Try out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime • Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met • Maintain good housekeeping standards and support 5S improvement activities as needed. • Take part and improve effectiveness using FES tools: propose and implement continuous productivity, process, and quality improvement actions for all facilities • Escalate issues to Supervisor as necessary. • Ensure proper application and follow all HSE procedures in the workplace, including the • customer and company locations. • Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records • Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 Environmental Policy. • Follow requirements established in Saline Plant ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures and work instructions. • Work overtime as necessary. • Work flexibly to meet customer demands and needs. • Act in accordance with the behaviors as established in the company’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management. • Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
Knowledge/Skills:
• At least 3 years of maintenance/engineering experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment • Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety or complexity which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines and equipment • Electro-mechanics and automation skills • Print reading ability for core proficiency (Electrician or Mechanic) • Working knowledge of Quality system and Health, Safety and Environment skills • Strong technical problem-solving skills • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work in a matrix organization • Proficient level of English required • Ability to operate mills and lathes as well as weld and fabricate • Knowledgeable in NFPA 70E arc flash requirements • Shift preference determined by seniority, must be willing to work off shift (non-day shift)
